Samsung already has a sequel to the original Galaxy Tab launched in the shape of the Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) and there is now a successor to the Galaxy Tab 10.1 of last year. The Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) is unfortunately no major improvement in terms of hardware specifications but will be cheaper to put on the market. In addition, Samsung has adapted the design.

Furthermore, the tablet has a 1GHz dual-core processor, 3 megapixel camera on the back, a 1.3 megapixel camera on the front and 1GB of RAM. You also get 16GB of storage memory, GPS, Wifi, Bluetooth 3.0, optional 3G and a microSD memory card reader to expand.

In terms of software, the Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) about Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, covered with the Samsung TouchWiz interface. Samsung also introduces so-called Small apps to the system tray at the bottom that can be called. These small applications can be used for running applications in a small window. So it is simply a rush to calculate using the calculator or a quick email. Samsung has also some menus and icons adapted to connect to the TouchWiz interface.

Regarding the design, Samsung has opted for a look that matches the German modified version of the original Galaxy Tab 10.1. The edges are bent forward so that the speakers facing forward. The great advantage of this is that the audio actually directed toward you, something which in many tablets is not the case. The tablet has a profile of 9.7 millimeters and a weight of 588 grams.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) comes in a 16GB or 16GB Wifi-only WiFi + 3G model. You also have the choice of white and black version.
